Using Blackboard to satisfy AQTF requirements

It is not often realised that by asking students to access their materials and assessments, and submit their assessments through Blackboard, you have a complete record of student participation and evidence for assessment.

By enabling Statistics Tracking in Blackboard, you will be able to generate reports of how often each student accesses a particular content area, activity or assignment.

Within the Grading Centre, you can enter labels for each assignment in the columns and the Centre will show you who has started each assignment or activity, who has finished, and gives you the option to grade and comment.

For some detailed instructions on using grading and statistics tracking in Blackboard, see the Page I have created - see under Pages to the right of this post.

If you have used these tools on Blackboard or other Learning Management System, feel free to share your experiences here!

Blackboard Collaborate now available for Android mobile devices

WestOne have announced an upgrade of Collaborate to v12.5 which includes an app for Android mobile devices.  Previously this was only available on iPads.  This means that you can conduct classes and meetings on the go, anywhere, anytime.  It means that learners can use their own technology to access your delivery.

To find out more about the current capabilities of Collaborate, go here

Collaborate is an online conferencing room or class room that we have available for free through DTWD via WestOne.  It is one of the suite of tools available in Blackboard, so if you set up some online materials for your students on Blackboard, you can also set up a Collaborate room to use to meet and teach on line.
